Dr. Shubharani Bolar, a Classical Bharathanatyam artist of Pandanallur style hailing from Bangalore in Karnataka, India. Right from the tender age of 6 years, she showed keen interest in Dance and was initiated into the art by Guru Sri N N Bhaskar and Sri K Muralidhar Rao and advanced training from internationally renowned Guru Sri Adyar K Laxman and Guru Smt. Narmada.  She has rendered more than 800 solo performances since last 35 years and has participated in major Dance Festivals held throughout India and abroad. 

Dr. Shubha is a National ‘A’ graded artist and her performances have been telecast on Doordarshan Regional and National network since 1986. She has the rare honor as an artist empanelled by ICCR, New Delhi and Scholarship recipient for advanced studies in Bharathanatyam from Sangeetha Nritya Academy, New Delhi, and Sangeetha Nritya Academy, Karnataka. 

She has been adjudged as best dancer from Prabath Kalavidaru, Bangalore. She has been the recipient of many awards. She has been honored and felicitated by various organizations in Karnataka. She has qualified in Vidwat Dance Examination conducted by Govt. of Karnataka with distinction. 

  • She is well known for her abhinaya, teaching capabilities, and choreography.  She has choreographed several dance dramas, and fusion dances along with her students. She has organized many dance festivals and received several awards to her credit.
  • Dr. Shubha has toured many places in UK, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Latvia, Austria, Estonia, Finland, Qatar and Thailand and has given successful performances. Many students have established the dance classes in many countries like England, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, Quatar, Dubai, Australia, Canada and US. 
  • Shubha founded Bharata Nritya Sangeeta Academy at Vijayanagar, Bangalore and imparting training in Bharatanatyam for many aspiring students.
  • Shubha has trained many dancers and 40 students have completed vidwath examination conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board with first grade. She has successfully rendered Rangapravesha of 22 students.  
  • Many students have performed in major dance festivals throughtout India and Abroad, mainly Natyanjali festival, Chidambaram, Mangalore Dasara Utsav,  Mangalore, Mysuru Dasara Festival, Mysore, Konark Dance Festival, South Zone Cultural Centre, Tanjoor, Aradhana Mahotsava, Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Mantralaya, Dharwad festival sponsored by Department of Kannada and Culture, World Trade Fair, New Delhi, Dance festival, Chennai, Hindu World festival, Sai International Dance Festival, Ankura festival,Hampi Festival, Namma Bengaluru Habba, Urmika Festival and in programmes conducted by Bangalore Doordarshan, Udaya, Zee and  Shankara TV channels and many More.
  • Some of the students have participated at International Dance Festivals abroad – Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur, Birmingham Art Centre, UK and Quatar centre for performing arts, Quatar.
  • Despite being busy with art, she obtained her Doctorate in Botany and working as Scientist in Department of Botany, Bangalore University, Bangalore. 
  • Students of Dr Shubha have the pride of winning the first place in the Dance reality show Sirigejje at Kannada web TV SIRINADU  and Second palce at Dance Jatre, conducted at Bangalore during  2019 and 2020 respectively.
  • Shubha has  produced and directed Nritya Darshana-A dance reality Show for Suprabhata Channel. Choreographed dance for  kannada TV serials and many programes for TV Channels
